  1. An article in Inquirer the other day said Rico Maierhofer will opt to try his luck in the PBA draft this year. We’ll definitely miss Rico’s presence in the paint next season.

According to our new roster in wikipedia though, looks like Franz got some very good rookies that will more than make-up for Rico’s loss.

  2. Players, good ones at that come and go through the years. But with an excellent system in place, the team will always be in contention no matter who the players are.

The Archers rely on team-oriented basketball.

  3. who are the rookies by the way?

  4. Is that true that Arvie Bringas will ba suiting up for the achers this coming season?

  5. diehardlasalle

The only time we will know the OFFICIAL roster of the team is probably the week before the start of the UAAP season.

With regards to the recruits, nothing is certain until we see their name as an enrolled student in DLSU.

  6. that’s correct. the names of our new recruits should be known only after they passed the entrance exams. we do not want another ogie menor. right Mssrs. Tugade and Pangilinan?

  7. We won’t know who makes the complete 15-man roster maybe a month or two before the actual UAAP season starts.

As for the probable rookies this season, there are a few who are already enroled in DLSU since last year. Those practicing with the team right now include Gab Banal, Tata Marata, Joel Tolentino, Papot Paredes and Jed Manguera. There’s also Fil-Canadian bigman Norbert Torres who is also practicing with the team but isn’t eligible to play until Season 74 because of the residency regulation. Nevertheless, he already enroled in DLSU last semester.

Here is a recent practice picture of the team:

(From L-R: Atkins, Manguera, Bagatsing, Marata, Webb, Co, Mangahas, Paredes, Ferdinand, Batricevic, Torres, Mendoza, Villanueva, Barua, Banal, Chandumal, Tolentino, Revilla)

As for Arvie Bringas, although there’s no official announcement from the school yet, there are multiple news sources (Business Mirror, GMA News.tv) that have confirmed that Bringas is ‘inclined’ to play for DLSU next year. With Rico Maierhofer gone, Bringas joining the Archers will be an imminent move. Here are the links to the news articles:

  8. sayang naman di na lalaro si rico malaki pa naman ang chance ng team mag champion.but it is ok madami naman promising mga bagong players ngayon.hopefully sure na si bringas sa atin siguro naman ngayon di na tayo mahihirapan sa mga big man ng ateneo

  9. GO LA SALLE, ANIMO LA SALLE
