It’s been 10 years since the Green Archers won their first of four consecutive UAAP championships. Who could not forget this memorable game wherein we finally buried the stigma of four consecutive runner-up finishes the seasons before. The entire DLSU community was all so ecstatic to see the end of the “Bridesmaid Era”. As a student back then, I consider this as the best championship year ever. After all the heartaches of previous years, this victory was indeed very special for the school.

Of course this was also the last time fans could storm into the Araneta Coliseum playing court in jubilation since the venue was renovated the following year wherein a new expensive floor was installed. I am proud to be part of that crowd who charged into the playing court. The feeling is truly priceless.

  3. @ onegreenfight

ang corny corny naman ng ateneo to come up with that..at tlgang nasa site ng ateneo ah! puro yabang lang naman. “introduction to ateneo and lasalle games” pero lahat ng schools tinira nila..

  4. Admin,

Susmaryosep!!! Salamat sa pagpost mo ng video na yan! It brings back memories! Bikoy and I are thrilled that you placed that immortal video for everyone to see. Ayos ka chief! Beat ateneo, Animo La Salle!!!

    Bikoy, its all good pre!!!

  5. Goosebumps sir!!! Ano kaya nasa isip ni montinola nung mga panahon na yon!?! Sa utak siguro nya “dapat nag lasalle nalang ako para panalo” Ahah! Dejavu anton…Hurts so good!

  6. walsham….pasok!!! laugh trip ka tlaga! ahahahah di bagay si

  7. @onegreenfight

it was just an entry for a creative writing class, nafeature lang.

  8. Wow! Flashback.. ang galing! Wala pang marshalls, saya siguro sa court nun… dumagundong yung Araneta ha!

ooohhh… the history of Mr. Tinola always getting screwed! ahehe!

  9. Growling Archer,

Alam mo kung ano ang the best sa video na yun? Its not Cali John, running and jumping like a headless chicken after he was fouled, or Ritualo making the three, or the fans running onto the court or even Coach Franz cheesy teenager-style moustache, You know what the best thing about the video is? Its a toss up between Danny Gavieres (FEU coach) apple cut hair do and Carter briefs being the sponsor of the best player of the game! Imagine if that happened in 2008. JV Casio would have his name right beside an underwear brand after he won the games MVP. Kengkoy! :)

  10. IS THE ATENEO WEBSITE A JOKE?!

  11. GO LASALLE…..repeat the four consecutive championship years woooooooooooooh ANIMO LASALLE …we believe in you coach Franz ………..

  12. Hehe I was a sophomore back when DLSU started their first of four consecutive championships…I remember the food for celebration in the campus was chicharon and sandwiches (cheese pimiento if I’m not mistaken) and nagkagulo na sa food after nung prayer lolz every year nag improve na yung food…may barbecue na, spaghetti, turon, etc. *sigh* those were the days..ANIMO LA SALLE!

  13. Ha ha naalala ko iyan. I remember seating right behind the basket and storming the court when the final buzzer sounded. Ah and yes, also seeing the SJ Walk and Pebble Wash being heavily congested during the victory party.

  14. THOSE were the days.

Magkaka-batch pala tayo, mga tol. 2nd Year college din ako nung nanalo ang Archers.

    Astig talaga ang La Salle.

  15. the crowd back then was extreme…
    ECW!

  16. That was the sweetest of them all…

    ID 97 din ako… :)
